The Joint Portfolio Committee on Public Works Infrastructure, Road Transport and Human Settlements, together with Public Accounts and Finance, under the leadership of Committee Chairpersons Hon. David Van Vuuran and Hon. Oupa Khoabane, successfully conducted an oversight visit to a number of road infrastructure projects between Vredefort, Viljoenskroon, and the Viljoenskroon Bridge.
The oversight visit formed part of the Committee’s mandate to monitor and evaluate the implementation of public infrastructure programmes. Its primary objective was to assess progress on ongoing road maintenance and upgrade works, evaluate compliance with required standards, and identify challenges affecting project delivery. The Committee also engaged with relevant stakeholders to ensure that these critical road networks continue to support safe mobility, economic activity, and effective service delivery for communities in the area.
