The Speaker of the Free State Legislature, Hon. Mxolisi Dukwana, presided over key legislative proceedings related to the 2025/26 financial year at the Interim Chamber, located on the 6th Floor of the Southern Life Plaza Building in Bloemfontein.
The sitting included the tabling of the 2025/26 Second Adjustment Appropriation Bill [B1–2026] by the MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism Affairs, Hon. Ketso Makume. The Bill provides for budgetary adjustments aimed at responding to emerging priorities and evolving fiscal requirements within the province.
Members of the Legislature also participated in a robust debate on the Premier’s State of the Province Address (SOPA), delivered by Premier MaQueen Letsoha-Mathae. The debate enabled Members to engage on the provincial government’s policy direction, development agenda, and commitments outlined in the address. These proceedings form part of the ongoing #FSSOPA26 programme, underscoring the Legislature’s oversight role and its commitment to transparent and accountable governance in the Free State.
