The Speaker of the Free State Legislature, Hon. Mxolisi Dukwana, has convened the first sitting of the house for 2025 marking the Official Opening of the Free State Legislature. This event is set to take place on the February 21st, 2025.
A significant event in the provincial calendar, this sitting will allow the Premier of the Free State, Hon. MaQueen Letsoha-Mathae to table the State of the Province Address for the financial period 2025/2026. After the election of the Presiding Officers and the Chairpersons of Portfolio Committees in 2024, the Premier had the opportunity to articulate the newly appointed Administration’s five-year vision and plans when the 7th Legislature took office. This State of the Province Address (SOPA) will therefore afford Letsoha-Mathae an opportune moment to outline key policy goals and deliverables for the coming year, as well as the provinces’ effective response to the challenges met during the period under review.
The media is invited.
Online registration for SOPA Accreditation is open for all members of the media and media executives who wish to attend and to cover the event.
Closing date for online registration is Monday, February 17th, 2025.
